After spending a few years living in cold Dunedin completing a Double Degree in Sports Management and Marketing at University of Otago, and a OE travelling around South America, she realised that one of the most spectacular places was right on her doorstep! Abby loves the rush of endorphins she gets from outdoor activities such as surfing, hiking and skiing and then decided to really commit to her new-found love of Mountain Biking. Her true passion working with youth in the outdoors and is keen to see more chicks out on the trails and aims to make Mountain Biking a more accessible sport for all Kiwi's, utilising the awesome Waitangi Mountain Bike Park we have here in Northland. Logan is a jack of all trades, and master of.…all. As one of our qualified bike mechanics, Logan has you covered whether it’s a simple puncture or a full stripdown, service and rebuild. Capable servicing most types of suspension, he’ll make sure all the bouncy bits are working well too. Electric Bikes are no problem either with Shimano and Bosch eBike Certifications. A born and bred Northlander and a keen mountain biker, he has come originally from the Automotive Industry. With years spend under the hood with a spanner and grease on his face, even removing rounded spoke nipples is still more enjoyable than doing a cambelt he realised. Moving on from the Rally Car days to shredding the tracks on his mountain bikes, he is often riding in the Waitangi MTB Park most weekends with his kids and wife. If not going for a casual jaunt, he'll be getting sendy on his eMTB with a massive grin on the dial.
Current Rides: A pimped out 2021 Giant Fathom Hardcore Hardtail and a trusty Merida e160.
Favourite Track: Tuatara (mainly the bottom section).
Lukas is our weekend warrior, trail blazer and expert rider. His friendly face will always greet you with a huge smile here at Paihia Mountain Bikes HQ, or you may see him out in the park, doing what he loves most, riding and coaching! Lukas loves everything to do with being outside and is in the forest riding his bike almost every day. You might catch him scoping out a crazy jump you’ve never seen, chasing KOM’s, or that top spot on the “track of the month” board. He is one of the youngest Professional Mountain Bike Instructors around and loves sharing tips and tricks to get you more confident out on the trails. Back in the workshop, Lukas can fix just about anything to make your bike run good as new. When you’re next down at the park or out on the trails come and chat bikes or go for a ride with him. He’d love to show you around.
